A Large Fish
Recently, with my eyes closed in meditation, I saw in vision a large fish. As soon as the details registered upon my consciousness the vision faded. I had seen myself reaching into the crystal clear water with both my hands almost touching the fish. One feature that stood out in particular were the scales on its underbelly, which glistened with a beautiful azure blue.
I know from our teaching that a fish can represent a person, one who is seeking the way of the light. The symbol of seeing or even catching a fish dates back to the time of the Master Teacher, Jesus. He told his disciples they would become fishers of men. This meant that through their words and their example they could help those who were seeking, to set their feet upon the path of enlightenment.
A large fish represents one already committed to watching their own thoughts and feelings, with a view to finding inner peace. In the words of Chang, (the wonderful spirit teacher who worked with Gladys), even small fish have a habit of growing larger. This means that no one need be left out, thinking they are not worthy. All have the use of will and can be determined to learn the lessons of life. One of the first lessons is to appreciate what we have, instead of grumbling under our breath about what we don’t have. Too easy is it to find ourselves wishing for more, and yet more. But by staying focussed upon learning how to build light, we will never go short of our basic needs or of the comfort of mind that money cannot buy.
A day or so following my vision I received an email, and I knew that the sender was the one I’d seen in vision. I hesitated before telling them they were seen as a fish! However, I knew they would not take it as an insult, but an encouragement to their progress. Indeed, in the time after Jesus was put to death a fish was used as a secret sign by those who had taken up the teaching.
The azure blue colour on the fish shows a predominant colour in the aura of the person it represents. It signifies absolute sincerity. When seen with one wishing to enlarge their own soul, the possibility is that they will move heaven and earth to do so. And speaking of heaven, this is something that all who have the courage to sincerely learn will discover within themselves, a treasure that is priceless indeed.
